About Nadine Isaacs
E. Nadine Isaacs was born in Jamaica in 1942. Her parents were Ivy and Wills Isaacs. She studied architecture at the University of Sydney in Australia. After finishing her studies, she returned to Jamaica.
Nadine began working for the Jamaican Ministry of Housing. She worked hard and became a senior executive architect. In the mid-1970s, she worked on projects with the World Bank. These projects aimed to make low-cost roofing materials more available. Her job was to figure out what was needed for local homes. She also made sure the materials were affordable.
She later joined the Sites and Services Division. Here, she helped design and build homes that were affordable for many people. After that, she worked for the Urban Development Corporation. Eventually, Nadine opened her own architecture company.
