Namcha Barwa is a huge mountain in the Himalayas mountain range, located in Tibet. It stands incredibly tall at about 7,782 meters (25,531 feet) high! This makes it one of the world's highest peaks, ranking as the 28th tallest mountain on Earth.

For many years, Namcha Barwa was known as one of the most challenging mountains to climb. From 1976 to 1992, it held the title of the highest mountain in the world that no one had ever reached the top of.

Where is Namcha Barwa?

Namcha Barwa is found in the eastern part of the Himalayas. This famous mountain range stretches across several countries in Asia. The mountain is specifically located in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. It is part of a very dramatic landscape where the Yarlung Tsangpo River (also known as the Brahmaputra River) makes a huge bend around the mountain. The First Climb
