Nancy Nabil Ajram (Arabic: نانسي نبيل عجرم; born May 16, 1983) is a famous Lebanese singer, TV star, and businesswoman. She is sometimes called the "Queen of Arab Pop" by Spotify.
Nancy started singing when she was very young, with support from her father. She appeared on many TV shows. By the time she was 15, Nancy signed a music deal with EMI. She released her first album, Mihtagalak, in 1998. Even though she was very young, she was allowed to join the Syndicate of Professional Artists in Lebanon. Her second album, Sheel Oyoonak Anni, came out in 2001.
Her big break happened when she started working with producer Jiji Lamara. She released her popular song "Akhasmak Ah" and her third album, Ya Salam, in 2003. Nancy's fourth album, Ah W Noss (2004), was also a huge success. It had hit songs like "Ah W Noss" and "Inta Eyh". At this point, she became a pop icon in the Middle East.
In 2007, Nancy released her first album just for children, called Shakhbat Shakhabit. It was very popular and successful. Her sixth album, Betfakkar Fi Eih (2008), had many hit songs. This album helped her win her first World Music Award. She was the youngest Arab artist to win this award.
Nancy Ajram has sold over 30 million records around the world. This makes her one of the best-selling music artists in the Middle East. By 2010, she was named the best-selling Middle Eastern female singer of the decade (2000–2009). She has released twelve studio albums, including two for children. She has many popular songs like "Yay", "Fi Hagat", and "Aam Betaala' Feek".
Nancy is also the first and only female spokesperson for Coca-Cola in the Arab world. She released several popular songs for Coca-Cola, such as "El Dounya Helwa". She has been listed many times as one of the most powerful and influential Arab singers.
Nancy has also sung patriotic songs for her home country, Lebanon. She has dedicated seven patriotic songs to Egypt, where she is also very popular. From 2013 to 2017, Nancy was a judge on the TV show Arab Idol. She also became a coach on The Voice Kids Arabia in 2016. In 2020, Nancy was the most-streamed Arab female artist on Spotify.

Her Life and Music Journey
Early Years and First Steps in Music (1983–2001)
Nancy Ajram was born on May 16, 1983, in Achrafieh, Beirut, Lebanon. She is the oldest child of Nabil Ajram and Raymonda Aoun. She has a sister, Nadine, and a brother, Nabil Jr. Nancy was only eight years old when she started singing old songs with her grandmother.
She did well in children's singing contests on local TV stations. In 1995, at age twelve, Nancy joined a TV show called Noujoum Al-Moustakbal (meaning Stars of the Future). This show looked for new singing talent. Nancy won a gold medal after singing a song by Umm Kulthum.
Nancy studied music with famous Lebanese musicians. Even though she was under 18, she was allowed to join the syndicate for professional artists in Lebanon. At 13, she released her first songs. Her first album, Mihtagalak, came out when she was 15. Her second album, Sheel Oyoonak Anni, followed three years later.
Becoming a Star and New Style (2002–2004)
In early 2002, Nancy signed a contract with famous Lebanese producer Jiji Lamara. They started working on her third album, changing her music style and image. Her breakthrough song, "Akhasmak Ah", was released in December 2002.
In early 2003, Nancy became very famous because of the success of "Akhasmak Ah". Her third album, Ya Salam, was also a best-seller. Her fourth album, Ah W Noss, came out on April 14, 2004. This album was a very important moment in her career. Its huge success made Nancy a top star in Arab music.
After this album, Nancy became the official celebrity spokesperson for Coca-Cola in the Middle East and North Africa. Her first Coca-Cola commercial featured her hit song, "Oul Tani Keda?". This commercial was so popular that it was also made into a music video. The song "Inta Eyh?" was another hit from the album. The music video for "Inta Eyh?" was praised a lot, and Nancy received many offers for acting roles.
More Hits and Children's Album (2005–2007)
Nancy's fifth album, Ya Tabtab...Wa Dallaa, was released on February 21, 2006. Many people thought Ya Tabtab was her best album at the time. It had six music videos and many radio hits.
She released a video for her Coca-Cola hit "Moegaba". She also signed a deal with Damas Jewellery and used her song "Ana Yalli" for their commercial. Nancy then worked with director Said El Marouk for the first time. They filmed "Ehsas Jdeed", which is one of the most successful songs from the album. The video told the story of a rich woman who falls in love with a deaf man.
In December 2006, Nancy sang with Lionel Richie at an event in Egypt. Later in 2007, she released a video for "Elli Kan" for Damas. She also released her Coca-Cola commercial for "El Donia Helwa" (Life is Beautiful). This commercial was very successful and led her to release a live album with the song.
Nancy also released her first album just for children, called Shakhbat Shakhabit (Scribbled Doodles). This album had songs that taught children good values. The music video for this album featured four songs, including "Shakhbat Shakhabit" and "Shater Shater". Nancy sang these songs at many events for children. She also filmed a video for "Risala Lil Aalam" (A Message to the World), which talks about world peace. The video showed the suffering of children around the world and the need for a happier world for them.
Awards, World Cup, and New Albums (2008–2010)

In early 2008, Nancy released three Coca-Cola commercials with a new hit song called "Meen Ghairy Ana (Noss El Kawn)". This song was an instant hit. Nancy released her sixth album, Betfakkar Fi Eih, on July 30, 2008. This album showed a big change in her style and her singing skills. Betfakkar Fi Eih is one of her most successful albums and won her first World Music Award.
The album included her first "Tarab" (traditional Arabic music) song since 1998. It had a mix of different styles like dance, pop, drama, and romance. The music video for "Min Dally Nseek" was very popular, reaching No. 1 for seven weeks. On November 9, 2008, Nancy won her first World Music Award for Betfakkar Fi Eih. She thanked her family, manager, fans, and husband.
Nancy also signed a deal with Sony Ericsson. A special phone was released with her signature, and her song "Wana Ben Ideik" was used in the commercial.

On September 28, 2009, The Oprah Winfrey Show featured Nancy Ajram in an episode about famous people worldwide. She was called "the Britney Spears of the Middle East". Nancy is the first and only Middle Eastern artist to be mentioned on the show.
In 2010, Coca-Cola Middle East chose Nancy to sing the Arabic version of "Wavin' Flag" with K'naan. This was the song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The Arabic version was called "Shaggaa Be Alamak". The music video was shown a lot during the FIFA World Cup.
On September 6, 2010, Nancy released the music video for her song "Fi Hagat". This video marked her first time working with director Nadine Labaki again since 2006. Her seventh album, Nancy 7, was released on the same day. By January 2011, Nancy became the most-viewed Arabic music video owner on the internet.
New Roles and More Success (2011–Present)
In August 2011, Nissan chose Nancy to be their official ambassador in the Middle East and North Africa. On September 7, she launched the new 2012 Nissan Micra in Lebanon.
On January 6, 2012, Nancy won her second World Music Award for Nancy 7 as the World's Best-Selling Middle Eastern Artist.
On September 13, 2012, Nancy released her second album for children, called Super Nancy. The main song was "Ya Banat". Later that month, Nancy became the new ambassador for Anlene milk. In a press conference, she said she would help women in the Middle East learn about bone health.
A month later, Nancy joined the second season of the popular talent show Arab Idol as a judge. She joined other famous singers and producers. After some delays, Nancy released her eighth album, Nancy 8, on March 21, 2014. The album's main song, "Ma Tegi Hena", was very popular. Two months later, Nancy received her third World Music Award as the best-selling Middle Eastern artist.
In September 2014, Nancy returned as a judge on the third season of Arab Idol. In October 2014, Huawei announced Nancy as their Middle East and North Africa ambassador.
In July 2015, Nancy became a judge on the TV show The Voice Kids. The show started on January 2, 2016. Nancy was still a judge on the show's third season in 2020, and her contestant won.
Home Centre also announced Nancy as their brand ambassador in 2015. She said she was happy to be part of the Home Centre family because she loves making her home special.
Nancy released the song "Maakoul El Gharam" in November 2015. It quickly became No. 1 on Anghami. She also returned as a judge on Arab Idol for its fourth season in November 2016.
On April 21, 2017, Nancy released her ninth album, Nancy 9 (Hassa Beek). This album was number one on the Hit Sorter's Best-Selling Albums Chart for 16 weeks. It also topped sales in Lebanon, Egypt, and other countries. The song "Aam Betaala' Feek" from the album broke a record for reaching one million streams on Anghami the fastest.
In 2017, Nancy voiced the character Bliss, the fourth Powerpuff Girl, in the Arabic version of The Powerpuff Girls special episode "Power of Four".
In 2018, Nancy became the first Lebanese singer to have a song, "Ya Banat", reach over 100 million views on YouTube. She released the song "Badna Nwalee El Jaw" in September 2018, and "Albi Ya Albi" in January 2020. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Nancy performed live concerts on YouTube and TikTok.
For Mother's Day in March 2021, Nancy released the song "Emmi". Her tenth album, Nancy 10, was released on July 10, 2021. On July 25, 2022, Nancy's song "Sah Sah" became the first Arabic song to enter Billboard's Dance/Electronic Songs chart.
Her Family Life
Nancy Ajram started dating Lebanese dentist Fadi El Hachem in 2005. They kept their relationship private for a long time. They got married in a small ceremony in Cyprus on September 1, 2008.
On her 26th birthday, May 16, 2009, Nancy gave birth to their first daughter, Mila. Nancy released a song for Mila called "Ya Rabi Tekbar Mila" on the same day. In a survey, Nancy was voted the "Most Beautiful Mom" of 2009. Nancy later showed Mila to the public on the cover of Prestige Magazine. Mila also appeared in the music video for Nancy's song "Ya Kether".
On April 23, 2011, Nancy gave birth to her second daughter, Ella. She released a song for Ella called "Hadri Laabek". On January 30, 2019, she gave birth to her third daughter, Lya. Four days later, Nancy released a song titled "Lya" for her.
Nancy is one of the most followed Arab celebrities on social media.
Helping Others
Nancy Ajram cares a lot about helping others. She has taken part in many charity events and concerts. She released a song about peace, "Risala Lil Aalam" (A Message to the World), as a music video from her children's album Shakhbat Shakhabit.
In June 2008, Nancy joined "The Big Ball", a charity event in Dubai. It raised money to help children who are not as lucky. Nancy auctioned off one of her favorite dresses. She said, "The Big Ball is doing a wonderful thing and I'm happy to support it. I'm coming for my love of children and because I want to help underprivileged children find a happy place in this world."
On October 22, 2009, the UNICEF chose Nancy to be their first female regional ambassador for the Middle East and North Africa. Nancy said she would start her charity projects in 2010. She also appeared in a UNICEF commercial with other famous Middle Eastern celebrities.
In 2013, Nancy sang the theme song for "Worth 100 Men" ("Bmeet Ragel" in Arabic). This was a radio series that focused on women's education and development.
