Naoki Hommachi (本街 直樹, Hommachi Naoki, born July 31, 1968) is a former professional football player from Japan. He was born on July 31, 1968, in Hyogo, Japan. Naoki Hommachi played as a defender, which means his main job on the field was to stop the opposing team from scoring goals. He spent his career playing for two main clubs in Japan.

Meet Naoki Hommachi: A Football Defender
Early Days and First Club
Naoki Hommachi started his football journey in high school, playing for Takigawa Daini High School. After that, he went to Kokushikan University. In 1991, after finishing university, he joined a professional team called Furukawa Electric. This team later changed its name to JEF United Ichihara. Even though he was part of the team for a few years, Naoki Hommachi did not get to play in any official matches during this time.
Becoming a Regular Player
In 1994, Naoki Hommachi moved to a new team called NEC Yamagata. This club was just starting out in a league called the Japan Football League. When he joined NEC Yamagata, Naoki Hommachi became a very important player. He played regularly as a center back, which is a key defensive position. He helped his team a lot during these years.
Reaching the J2 League
NEC Yamagata later changed its name to Montedio Yamagata. Naoki Hommachi continued to play for them. Thanks to the hard work of the team, Montedio Yamagata was promoted to a higher league, the J2 League, in 1999. This was a big achievement for the club and for Naoki Hommachi. He played his last season in 1999 and then retired from professional football at the end of that year.
