Naomi Wendy Climer is a British engineer born on December 18, 1964. She has worked a lot with technology for TV, radio, and communication. She is well-known for her work at the BBC and Sony Professional Solutions. Naomi Climer was also the very first female President of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). She also helped start the Institute for the Future of Work.

Early Life and Education

Naomi Climer went to Gainsborough High School. This school is now called Queen Elizabeth High School. She later studied at Imperial College London. In 1986, she earned a special degree. It combined Chemistry with Management Science.

Naomi Climer has held many important roles. She is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. This means she is recognized as a top engineer. She was elected to this group in 2013.

Leading the IET

Naomi Climer was a Trustee for the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). She served from 2009 to 2017. She became Deputy President in 2012. Then, in September 2015, she became the President. She was the first woman to hold this important position. After her presidency, she was the Immediate Past President until September 2017.

Work at Sony

In 2012, Naomi Climer moved to California. There, she became President of Sony's Media Cloud Services. This was a new business for Sony. She returned to the UK in 2015 for her IET role.
