Naoshi Nakamura (中村 直志, Nakamura Naoshi, born January 27, 1979) is a former Japanese football player. He was a talented midfielder who spent his entire professional career playing for Nagoya Grampus. He also played one match for the Japan national team.
Playing for Clubs
Nakamura was born in Funabashi, Japan, on January 27, 1979. After finishing his studies at Nihon University, he joined a professional football club called Nagoya Grampus Eight in 2001. This club is now known simply as Nagoya Grampus.
By 2002, Naoshi Nakamura became a regular player for his team. This means he played in most of their games. He started as an attacking midfielder, helping to score goals. But he was also good at playing as a defensive midfielder, helping to protect his team's goal. He even played on the right side of the field.
Winning the League
From 2008, a new manager named Dragan Stojković took over the team. Under his guidance, Nakamura played mainly as a defensive midfielder. The team did very well, finishing third in the J1 League in 2008. They also came second in the 2009 Emperor's Cup in 2009.
The biggest success came in 2010 when Nagoya Grampus won the J1 League championship for the very first time! This was a huge achievement for the club and Nakamura. In 2011, they continued their strong performance, finishing second in the J1 League.
Later Career
After 2011, Nakamura played less often for the team. He decided to retire from playing professional football at the end of the 2014 season. He played for Nagoya Grampus for 14 years, showing great loyalty to his club.
Playing for Japan
Naoshi Nakamura had one chance to play for the Japan national team. This happened on August 9, 2006. He played in a friendly match against the team from Trinidad and Tobago.
