Naran is a beautiful town and a very popular place for tourists in the upper Kaghan Valley. It is located in the Mansehra District of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. Naran is about 119 kilometers (74 miles) from Mansehra city. It sits high up at an altitude of 2,409 meters (7,904 feet) above sea level.
This town is also about 65 kilometers (40 miles) from Babusar Top. Naran is one of the most visited places in Pakistan, both by local people and visitors from other countries. Around 1.5 million people visit Naran Valley every year to enjoy its natural beauty.
Discovering Naran Valley
Naran Kaghan is very famous as a tourist spot. This is because of its lovely weather, especially during the peak travel season. Every year, thousands of tourists come to explore this amazing valley. Naran is also like a doorway to Gilgit and Hunza in the summer, through the Babusar Pass.
The main market in Naran, called Naran Bazaar, gets very busy in the summer. Many hotels and restaurants are open, ready to welcome visitors. The government hopes that even more tourists will visit the valley in the future.
Naran's Climate and Weather
Naran has a type of weather called a humid continental climate. This means it has warm summers and cold, snowy winters. There is a lot of rain in the summer months and heavy snowfall during winter.
The area around Naran is very mountainous, with lots of forests and open meadows. The weather often stays cloudy throughout the year. In winter, the temperature usually stays below 0°C (32°F) with heavy snow. In summer, the temperature rarely goes above 15°C (59°F), and there is still a lot of rain.
Naran is busiest in the summer, and the tourist season now lasts longer, even into the late fall. The average temperature in Naran throughout the year is about 4.7°C (40.5°F).
