Early Life and Musical Beginnings
Nargiz was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, into a family full of musicians. Her mother, Louisa Karimovna Zakirova, was a popular singer in the 1960s and 70s. Her father, Pulat Sionovich Mordukhaev, played the drums.
Nargiz first performed on stage when she was only four years old. At 15, she sang "Remember Me" at a big TV music contest called "Jurmala-86." She won an audience award there. She also studied at a circus school and performed with her own band.
Moving to the United States
In 1995, Nargiz moved to the United States with her parents and daughter. In New York, she worked in different places like a store and a tattoo parlor. She also continued to sing in restaurants. Rise to Fame in Russia
In 2013, Nargiz tried out for the American TV show X-Factor. When she didn't hear back, she decided to try the Russian version of The Voice. All four judges were very impressed by her. She chose to join Leonid Agutin's team. Nargiz made it to the final round of the competition, finishing in second place.
After The Voice, Nargiz started working with famous producer and composer Maxim Fadeev in April 2014. He wrote her first solo song, "Ya - ne tvoya," which came out on July 3. She even appeared in the music video with her husband at the time, Philip Balzano.
Awards and New Music
In July 2014, Nargiz won the top prize at the "White Nights of St. Petersburg" International Music Festival. She represented Russia at this event. Later that year, she appeared on the TV show Battle of Psychics as a test subject.
Nargiz continued to release new music. Her second song, "Ty - moya nezhnost," came out in February 2015. Maxim Fadeev also wrote this song. In December 2015, she released her third song, "Ya ne veryu tebe!". Her fourth song, "Begi," was released in May 2016.
Her first solo album, "Shum serdtsa" (which means "Heart's Noise"), was released on October 7, 2016. It included 15 songs, with four of her previously released singles. In September 2016, Nargiz and Maxim Fadeev released a song together called "Vdvoyom." This song was also part of her debut album.
In 2018, Nargiz released the song "Nelyubov." The music video for this song featured real women sharing their experiences. Nargiz has expressed strong opinions on certain world events, which led to her being unable to visit Russia for a long time.
