Welcome to Nasonville!

Nasonville is a charming village nestled in the northern part of Rhode Island. It's a place where history and modern life meet. The village is part of the larger town of Burrillville.

A Village with History

Nasonville began its journey in 1825. A man named Leonard Nason founded the village. He bought land right next to a river. This was a smart move because rivers were perfect for powering factories back then. Leonard Nason started a factory that made tools like axes and hoes. Because of this factory, Nasonville became an important place for manufacturing in the 1800s. Many different types of factories operated here during that time.

The Shrine of the Little Flower

Today, Nasonville is home to a very unique place. It is called the Shrine of the Little Flower. This is Rhode Island's only Catholic shrine. A shrine is a special place built to honor a saint or a holy event. This particular shrine honors Saint Thérèse of Lisieux. She is also known as "The Little Flower."

In 2023, the Shrine of the Little Flower celebrated a big milestone. It was its centennial jubilee! A centennial jubilee means it was the 100th anniversary of the shrine. This celebration marked a century of faith and history in Nasonville.
