Nathaniel "Nat" Peeples (born June 29, 1926 – died August 30, 2012) was a talented professional baseball player. He played as an Outfielder in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. Nat Peeples was part of the historic Negro leagues and also played in minor league baseball.

Early Life and Baseball Beginnings
Nat Peeples was born in Memphis, Tennessee. He grew up in a city with a rich baseball history. Later, he attended LeMoyne-Owen College. This was an important step in his life and education.
Playing in the Negro Leagues
Nat Peeples began his professional baseball journey in the Negro American League. This league was very important for African American players. They faced many challenges during this time.
Peeples played for several famous teams. In 1948, he joined the Memphis Red Sox. He also played for the legendary Kansas City Monarchs. Another team he played for was the Indianapolis Clowns. These teams were home to many amazing baseball stars.

In 1954, Nat Peeples played a few games for the Atlanta Crackers. This team was part of the Southern Association. His time with the Crackers was very important. He became the only African American player ever to play in that league.

Peeples scored 116 runs and had 99 RBI (Runs Batted In). He led the league in both runs scored and RBI. He finished second in home runs. The following year, he played for the Austin Senators. This team was in the Texas League. He hit .259 with 21 home runs. He also had 79 RBI and stole 23 bases. He was second in the league for stolen bases.
