The Natchiowatchouan River is a river located in Quebec, Canada. It flows into Soscumica Lake, which then connects to the larger Nottaway River. This river is found in the Nord-du-Québec region, and most of its path goes through a place called Millet Township.
The main activity in this area is forestry, which means harvesting trees for wood. Recreational tourism is also very popular. People enjoy activities like hunting and fishing, especially around Soscumica Lake and the rivers that flow into it.
You can get to the area around Soscumica Lake using the James Bay Highway. There is also a special winter road on the west side of the lake. The river usually freezes over from early November until the middle of May. However, it's generally safe to travel on the ice from mid-November to mid-April.
River's Path and Surroundings
The Natchiowatchouan River is surrounded by several other important water bodies. To the north and east, you'll find Soscumica Lake and the Nottaway River. To the south, there's Lake Matagami and the Bell River. To the west, you'll find the Deux Lacs River, Lake Montreuil, and the Kitchigama River.
