Nathan Wilson (born 7 January 1993) is a former professional Australian rules football player. He played as a defender for two teams in the Australian Football League (AFL): the Greater Western Sydney Giants and the Fremantle Football Club. He also played for Peel Thunder in the West Australian Football League (WAFL).

Playing in the AFL

Starting with Greater Western Sydney

Nathan Wilson began his football journey with Peel Thunder. He was chosen by the Greater Western Sydney Giants when he was just 17 years old. This was before the Giants officially joined the AFL. In 2011, Nathan played for the Giants in the North East Australian Football League (NEAFL). This helped him get ready for the team's first season in the AFL.

Nathan made his big debut in the very first game for the Greater Western Sydney Giants. This was in Round 1 of the 2012 AFL season. They played against the Sydney Swans at ANZ Stadium. Nathan even kicked a goal in his first game! He played 9 games in his first season.

Moving to Fremantle

After playing for the Giants until the end of the 2017 AFL season, Nathan moved to a new team. He was traded to the Fremantle Football Club. He played for Fremantle for several seasons.

At the end of the 2023 AFL season, Nathan's time playing for AFL clubs came to an end.

Life After AFL

Playing for Peel Thunder

Even after his AFL career, Nathan kept playing football. He returned to his original club, , for the 2024 WAFL season. He was a very important player for the team.

Winning a Premiership

In 2024, Nathan helped Peel Thunder win the WAFL Premiership. This is like winning the championship for the league. He also finished the season as the team's top goal-kicker.

Retirement from Football

On October 16, 2024, Nathan Wilson announced he was retiring from football. He had played for almost 15 years in both the AFL and WAFL. He said it was a dream come true to play over 150 AFL games. He was also very thankful to win a Premiership with Peel Thunder after his AFL career.
