Later, the school was renamed the 'Mayo School of Arts, Lahore'. This new name honored Lord Mayo, who was a Viceroy of India. A Viceroy was like a very important governor who ruled India for the British King or Queen.
Moving to a New Home
In the 1890s, the school moved to its current location. This spot is right next to the famous Lahore Museum. At this time, it became known as the 'Mayo College of Arts'.
Becoming the National College of Arts
After 1947, Pakistan became an independent country. The school was then officially named the 'National College of Arts'. This name shows its important role in the country.
