Navalperal de Pinares is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the Province of Ávila in Castile and León, Spain. It is found about 28 kilometers (17 miles) from the city of Ávila.
The town sits at a high altitude of 1,287 meters (4,222 feet) above sea level. It covers an area of about 57.90 square kilometers (22.36 square miles). In 2023, the town had a population of 792 people.

In the 1500s, Navalperal de Pinares became part of the lands controlled by the Marquis of the Navas. The Marquis was a powerful noble. You can still see his family's shield carved in stone inside the main chapel of the local church.
Navalperal remained under the Marquis's influence for a long time. This continued until the 1800s.
Navalperal de Pinares is in an area with gentle hills. The land here is usually between 1,200 and 1,500 meters (3,900 and 4,900 feet) high. The highest point is Valpardo, which reaches 1,517 meters (4,977 feet).
Climate and Nature
The town has a climate with cold winters. The summers are a bit warmer. The land is mostly covered in rich, green meadows. You can also find some oak trees and pine forests.
Many natural springs are found throughout the town. These springs create small streams and creeks. They help keep the pastures green and full of life. These streams also feed into the Becedas River to the south. To the north, some water flows into the Voltoya basin, which is a branch of the Duero River.
Transport Links
A main road, the C-505, runs through the middle of the municipality. A northern railway line also crosses the area from east to west. These provide important connections for the town.
People and Economy
The first records of people living in Navalperal de Pinares are from the late 1500s. At that time, about 156 families lived there.
By the 1700s, the population was around 172 people. In the mid-1800s, it grew to 663 people. The population increased a lot in 1860 when the railway station was built. By the late 1800s and early 1900s, over 1,000 people lived there. The population reached its highest point in 1960 with 1,523 inhabitants.
Main Industries
For many years, raising livestock was the main way people earned money. This is still very important today. About 5,000 hectares (12,355 acres) of land are used for pastures. These pastures feed nearly two thousand cows.
Navalperal de Pinares has good connections to the cities of Ávila and Madrid. Its beautiful scenery and pleasant weather also attract visitors. Because of this, tourism is now a very important part of the town's economy. It is almost as important as livestock farming.
