History of Needmore
How Needmore Got Its Name
The community of Needmore got its name in a unique way. People say that an early visitor thought the settlement "needed more" of something. This phrase stuck, and that's how the community got its interesting name!
Early Days of the Community
A post office was opened in Needmore in 1872. This meant people could send and receive mail right in their community. However, the post office eventually closed down in 1919.
By 1884, Needmore was a small but active place. It had a blacksmith shop, where people could get metal items made or repaired. There were also several stores for people to buy what they needed. At that time, about 100 people lived in Needmore.
