Neny Island is a small island located off the coast of Antarctica. It is about 2.8 kilometers (1.5 nautical miles) long. The island's highest point reaches 675 meters (2,215 feet) above sea level.

Neny Island lies northwest of Roman Four Promontory. It is also directly north of the mouth of Neny Fjord. This area is off the west coast of Graham Land in Antarctica.

A British expedition discovered Neny Island between 1934 and 1937. This group was called the British Graham Land Expedition (BGLE). Their leader was John Riddoch Rymill. The island was named after the nearby Neny Fjord.

Exploring Neny Island's Features

Different groups exploring Antarctica have mapped and named several spots on Neny Island.

Store Point

Store Point is the northernmost tip of Neny Island. The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS) mapped this point in 1947. They named it "Store Point" because FIDS kept emergency food supplies there.

Norseman Point

Norseman Point is the easternmost part of the island. A British expedition led by Rymill first mapped it in 1936. Later, FIDS named it after the Norseman airplane. This plane landed near the point in February 1950. It brought new supplies to the FIDS team on Stonington Island.
