Neoblakea is a small group of flowering plants. These plants belong to the Rubiaceae family, which is also known as the coffee family.
You can find Neoblakea plants growing naturally in two South American countries: Venezuela and Ecuador.
The name Neoblakea was given to honor Sidney Fay Blake (1892–1959). He was an American botanist, which means he was a scientist who studied plants. He was also a plant taxonomist, someone who names and classifies plants. The genus was first officially described in 1930.
