Nestlé Tex, also known as TEX, is a popular candy bar. It is made by Nestlé and is very well-known in South Africa.

What is Tex?

The Tex candy bar was first created around 1955 by a company called Rowntree's. It was first sold in Canada.

Unique Chocolate Layers

Tex is special because it combines two different textures. It has light, bubbly chocolate, like the Aero bar. This bubbly chocolate is called aerated chocolate. It also has crispy wafers, similar to a Kit Kat bar. All of this is covered in smooth milk chocolate.

Tex's Journey to South Africa

Rowntree's introduced Tex to South Africa in 1956. It quickly became very popular there. Even today, Tex is still a favorite treat in South Africa.

Ownership Changes

Over time, the Rowntree's company was bought by Nestlé. Because of this, the Tex candy bar is now part of the Nestlé family of products. While Tex is no longer sold in Canada, people can still find it in some special shops that import treats from South Africa. The Tex bar is easy to spot with its bright yellow wrapper.
