Neus Munté Fernández is a well-known politician from Catalonia, a region in Spain. She was born in Barcelona on November 13, 1970. Throughout her career, she has held several important roles in the Catalan government.

Education and Early Life
Neus Munté studied law at the University of Barcelona. After that, she continued her studies and earned a master's degree. This master's degree focused on public law and how administrative organizations work.
Professional Career
Before becoming a full-time politician, Neus Munté worked as a Lawyer. She was part of the General Union of Workers (UGT) in Catalonia. This is a large group that helps workers.
From 1996 to 1999, she was a member of the National Executive Committee for the Public Services Federation within the union. Later, from 2004 to 2010, she held other important roles. She was the union's secretary for labor and education, and also for institutional policy.
Political Journey
Neus Munté's political career began in 1999. She worked as the chief of staff for the Education Ministry until 2002. This role meant she helped manage the daily work of the ministry.
Serving in Parliament
In 2002, she was elected to the Parliament of Catalonia. She served as a representative there until 2003. She returned to Parliament in 2010 and stayed until 2013. During this time, she spoke for the ruling CiU party on education matters. She also led the Personal Equality Committee, which worked on fairness for everyone.
Roles in Government
Neus Munté has been a member of the CDC party since 1996. This party was a main part of the CiU group. From 1998 to 2000, she was a deputy secretary general for the JNC, which is the youth group of the CDC.
In December 2012, she became the Minister of Social Welfare and Family Affairs. This meant she was in charge of programs that help families and people in need in Catalonia. She held this position until January 2016.
From June 2015 to January 2016, she also served as the Vice President of Catalonia. This was a very high-ranking position in the government. After that, from January 2016 to July 2017, she was the Minister of the Presidency. She also served as the Government Spokesperson of Catalonia from June 2015 to July 2017. In this role, she was the official voice of the government, sharing information with the public.
