Never Never Land is a British drama film from 1980. It was directed by Paul Annett. The movie stars famous actors like Petula Clark and Cathleen Nesbitt. Its name comes from Neverland, the amazing, magical place in the classic Peter Pan stories.
What the Movie is About
This movie tells the story of Jennie, a seven-year-old girl. Her parents left her with her aunt Bee (Petula Clark) and uncle Jim (John Castle). Jennie's older cousins were not very kind to her.
Jennie's Adventure Begins
Inspired by the story of Peter and Wendy, Jennie decides to run away. Her younger cousin, Joe (Christian Henson), goes with her. They find a safe place in an old, empty house in London.
Finding New Friends
In the abandoned house, Jennie meets a group of young boys. She starts to act like a mother figure to them, much like Wendy does for the Lost Boys in the Peter Pan tales. An old woman named Edith Forbes (Cathleen Nesbitt) becomes Jennie's friend. This was Cathleen Nesbitt's very last movie role.
