The New Hampshire Marine Memorial is a special statue located in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. It's made from strong granite stone and stands on a tiered base. This beautiful memorial was designed in a Classical style by Concord, New Hampshire expert Alice Ericson Cosgrove. The actual sculpting was done by Vincenzo Andreani.
The memorial was created to honor all the brave people from New Hampshire who served in the military and were lost at sea during times of war. It was officially dedicated on May 30, 1957.
The statue shows a woman kneeling and looking out towards the ocean. In her hands, she holds a laurel wreath, which is a symbol of honor and victory. Near the statue, there's a curved granite wall. On this wall, you can find the names of the men who were lost at sea. It's a quiet and respectful place to remember their sacrifice.
