New Life Church is a very large Christian church located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. It is known for being a "multi-site" church, meaning it has several locations. It is also "non-denominational," which means it is not part of a larger, specific church group. New Life Church focuses on sharing Christian beliefs and experiences.
How New Life Church Started
New Life Church began in 1984. It was started by Ted Haggard in his home. As more people joined, the church grew. It moved to bigger and bigger places. These included office spaces and other buildings.
The first main worship area on the church campus is now called the "theater." It was finished in 1990. This space can hold 2,000 people. It is used for Friday night services. It also hosts the New Life Kids program on Sunday mornings.
The church campus also has the World Prayer Center. This building is a place for prayer. It helps connect people around the world for prayer. The World Prayer Team runs this effort.
"The Tent" is another building on campus. It was built in 2003. This space is used for different church gatherings. It also hosts the Sunday service for junior high students.
The current main worship area is called the "Living Room." It was completed in 2005. This large space can seat 8,000 people.
In August 2007, Brady Boyd became the senior pastor. A church survey from 2023 showed that about 15,000 people attend weekly. The church now has 8 different locations, called "campuses."
Music and Worship at New Life
New Life Church is well-known for its music. Many talented songwriters have come from the church. These include Ross Parsley, Jon Egan, Glenn Packiam, Jared Anderson, Cory Asbury, and Pete Sanchez.
The church has released many albums. Some of these are "Over It All" and "My Savior Lives." They have also released hundreds of songs. Popular songs include "I Am Free" and "Great I Am." This music is released through New Life Worship and Desperation Band.
Eddie Hoagland leads the New Life Worship team. Jon Egan often leads the music on Sundays at the New Life North campus.
