New London is a small place in Indiana, United States. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a town that doesn't have its own local government. It's located in Monroe Township, which is part of Howard County. New London is also considered part of the larger Kokomo Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Exploring New London's Past

New London has an interesting history. It was first planned out and mapped in 1845. Just a few years later, in 1848, it officially became an incorporated town. This meant it had its own local government.

When New London Was a Town

During the 1870 census, New London had a population of 240 people. It was a busy little town back then. However, things changed quickly. By the time the next census came around, New London was no longer an incorporated town. Another nearby place called Greentown took its spot as the third incorporated town in Howard County.
