New Moomin (新ムーミン, Shin Mūmin) is a fun anime TV show. It's the second TV series based on the popular Moomin books. These books were created by a talented Finnish writer and artist named Tove Jansson. This show is a remake of an earlier Moomin series from 1969. The first series was a bit different from the books, but New Moomin tried to stick much closer to Tove Jansson's original stories. It was made in 1972 by Mushi Production and shown on Fuji TV in Japan.
Making the New Moomin Show
The New Moomin series was made because the first Moomin TV show (from 1969) wasn't quite what Tove Jansson, the creator of Moomin, wanted. She felt the first show was too different from her original stories. So, a new series was created to be more like the books.
This new show, New Moomin, was produced in 1972. It was made by a company called Mushi Production. Unlike the first series, New Moomin was never shown outside of Japan. It was only broadcast there.
