Neyaashiinigmiing, once called Cape Croker, is a special area of land in Ontario, Canada. It's home to the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation, an Indigenous community. This beautiful place is located in Bruce County.

The Cape Croker Lighthouse

The Cape Croker Lighthouse stands tall on the southeast side of Neyaashiinigmiing. It was first built in 1898. The lighthouse you see today replaced the original wooden one in 1902. This lighthouse was very special! It was the first of its kind to use electricity for its light and foghorn. It's shaped like an octagon and is about 18 meters (53 feet) tall. Its powerful light can shine up to 24 kilometers away!

Cape Croker Park

Cape Croker Park is a big park, about 520 acres, found in Neyaashiinigmiing. It's right next to Sydney Bay. You can go camping here. The park also hosts the community's yearly pow-wow, which is a special gathering for Indigenous people.

The Bruce Trail

The famous Bruce Trail passes right through Neyaashiinigmiing. This long hiking trail goes over some amazing cliffs, called bluffs, in the area.

Other Natural Wonders

Neyaashiinigmiing is also home to two impressive bluffs: the Jones Bluff and the Sydney Bay Bluff. The Bruce Trail lets hikers explore both of these natural wonders.
