Nicholas "Nick" Winmar (born 27 April 1991) is an Australian rules footballer. He played for the St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Nick is known for his brief time playing at the top level of Australian football.

Early Life and Football Start

Nick Winmar was born on April 27, 1991. He grew up with a connection to Australian rules football. His second cousin is Nicky Winmar, a famous player for St Kilda and the Western Bulldogs. This family link meant football was likely a big part of his life.

Joining the AFL

Nick started his football journey in Western Australia. He played for the Claremont Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). His talent was noticed by professional teams. In the 2009 AFL Draft, St Kilda Football Club chose him. He was the 32nd player picked overall in that draft.

Playing for St Kilda

Nick Winmar joined the St Kilda Football Club in 2010. He worked hard to earn a spot in the main team.

AFL Debut and Games

Nick made his first appearance in the AFL in 2011. This was in Round 9 against the Melbourne Football Club. He played again the next week against the Fremantle Football Club. After these two games, he was sent back to play in the Victorian Football League (VFL). This is a league below the AFL. He was sometimes listed as an "emergency" player. This meant he was ready to play if another player got injured.

End of His AFL Career

Nick Winmar's time with St Kilda ended in 2012. He was "delisted" by the club. This means they decided not to keep him on their team. This happened even though he had a contract until the end of 2013. After being delisted, he no longer played in the AFL.
