Music Career
Nicke Andersson loved music from a young age. His favorite band was Kiss. He soon found his friend Kenny Håkansson's father's record collection. There, he discovered bands like The Ramones and Sex Pistols. Nicke then became interested in heavier music. He started collecting music and writing for fan magazines. Soon, he began playing drums and guitars in rock and metal bands.
Forming Entombed
Nicke Andersson started the band Nihilist after seeing an ad in a music store. When Nihilist broke up in 1989, the same musicians formed Entombed. Nicke was mainly the drummer for Entombed. He also played bass, guitar, and sang sometimes.
Entombed's first two albums, Left Hand Path and Clandestine, were mostly death metal. Nicke was only 18 when they recorded Left Hand Path. With their third album, Wolverine Blues, the band started mixing in hard rock and heavy metal sounds. This style became known as "death 'n' roll."
The Hellacopters' Journey

In late 1994, Nicke Andersson started The Hellacopters. This was a side project with Dregen, Kenny Håkansson, and Robert Eriksson. They had all worked as roadies for Nicke when he was in Entombed. In January 1995, they released their first song, Killing Allan.
Their first full album, Supershitty to the Max!, came out in 1996. It was recorded very quickly, in just 25 hours. The album later won a music award. The band added Anders Lindström and opened for KISS in 1997. Their next album, Payin' the Dues, followed a year later. Because The Hellacopters became so popular, Nicke left Entombed to focus on his new band.
Later, guitarist Dregen left The Hellacopters to focus on his other band. The Hellacopters then changed their music style to a cleaner sound. Robert 'Strings' Dahlqvist joined as their new full-time guitarist. The band kept releasing albums and touring a lot. They even opened for The Rolling Stones in 2002. In 2006, The Hellacopters toured Sweden with other famous bands. The band broke up after their seventh album, Head off, which was a collection of cover songs. They had a final tour in 2008.
Collaborations with Scott Morgan
While touring the USA with The Hellacopters, Nicke's band played at the same places as Scott Morgan. Scott Morgan was the singer for the band Sonic's Rendezvous Band. This led to them forming The Hydromatics. They released their first album, Parts Unknown, in 1999.
Nicke Andersson and Scott Morgan worked together again in 2004. This time, they called their band The Solution. They released the album Communicate! and later Will Not Be Televised in 2007.
Death Breath
In 2005, Nicke Andersson and Robert Pehrsson formed Death Breath. Scott Carlson and Erik Wallin soon joined them. The band plays metal music inspired by Nicke's favorite early extreme metal bands. These include Venom, Autopsy, and Celtic Frost. Death Breath released Stinking Up the Night in 2006 and Let It Stink in 2007.
Imperial State Electric
Imperial State Electric started as Nicke Andersson's solo project. But it soon became a touring band with the same members as his band Cold Ethyl. They toured a lot in 2010–2011 after their first album came out. Imperial State Electric played their own shows and festivals. They also opened for bands like KISS and Guns N' Roses. For their second album, Pop War, Imperial State Electric became a full band.
Lucifer
In March 2017, Nicke Andersson joined the band Lucifer as their drummer. He had started writing songs with Johanna Sadonis, Lucifer's singer and his wife, in 2016. Since Nicke can play many instruments, Lucifer recorded their second album in his home studio. The band's third and fourth albums, Lucifer III (2021) and Lucifer IV (2022), were nominated for music awards.
Other Music Projects
In 1998, Nicke Andersson formed Supershit 666 with his former bandmate Dregen and Ginger from The Wildhearts. The band's music sounded a lot like early Hellacopters songs. They released an EP in 1999 but never played live.
After releasing By the Grace of God, Nicke was asked to join Wayne Kramer and the remaining members of the MC5. He toured with them in 2003 and 2004. Nicke has also produced albums for other bands, like Dollhouse and Backyard Babies.
