Nicktoons UK is a TV channel that shows cartoons. It started on 22 July 2002 in the United Kingdom and Ireland. This channel is like a younger sibling to the main Nickelodeon channel.
Nicktoons UK plays many different cartoon shows. Some of these are original "Nicktoons" shows, which means they were made by Nickelodeon. The channel also shows cartoons bought from other companies. Unlike the Nicktoons channel in the United States, the UK version has always shown commercials. It is mainly for kids aged 7 to 11.

Other Nicktoons Channels
Nicktoonsters: A Short-Lived Channel
On 18 August 2008, a new channel called Nicktoonsters was launched. It was a spin-off from Nicktoons. This channel was only available to people who had Sky TV.
Nicktoonsters showed older cartoons that were no longer on the main Nicktoons channel. It shared its broadcast time with another channel called Comedy Central Extra +1. Nicktoonsters stopped broadcasting on 31 July 2009.
Nicktoons Replay: Catch-Up TV
After Nicktoonsters closed, a new channel called Nicktoons Replay started. This channel launched on 1 August 2009. Nicktoons Replay was a "+1" channel. This meant it showed the same programs as Nicktoons, but one hour later.
This allowed viewers to catch up on shows they might have missed. Nicktoons Replay stopped broadcasting on 1 October 2012. Its old channel spot was then used for Nick Jr. +1, a similar catch-up channel for Nick Jr.
Nicktoons Ireland: For Irish Viewers
On 13 September 2012, it was announced that a special version of Nicktoons would launch for Ireland. This channel, called Nicktoons Ireland, started on 16 October 2012. It offers programs specifically for viewers in Ireland.
What Shows Are On Nicktoons?
Nicktoons UK shows a wide variety of cartoon programs. These include popular shows made by Nickelodeon and other fun cartoons from different studios.
Special Programming Blocks
In 2004, Nicktoons TV started broadcasting for more hours each day. From 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, they had a special block called Toonz2Nite. This block later extended until 11:00 PM in November 2005.
Toonz2Nite had its own unique look and feel. The shows during this time were usually for older children. For a short time in early 2017, Nicktoons also showed programs from a block called NickSplat.
