Nicole Dorsey is a talented Canadian film director and writer. She is known for her first big movie, Black Conflux. This film was shown for the first time at a major film festival in 2019.

About Nicole Dorsey
Her Early Life and School
Nicole Dorsey grew up in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. She went to M.M. Robinson High School. Later, she studied film at Ryerson University, which is now called Toronto Metropolitan University. She earned a special degree in film.
Her Work in Film
Nicole started working in the film industry when she was 18 years old. Her first job was helping with props on a TV show. Props are all the objects used on a film set. The show was called Rick Mercer Report.
Before making her first full-length movie, Nicole directed several shorter films. These included Ivadelle (2009) and Pop the Grapes (2013). She also directed Dennis (2015), Star Princess (2015), and Arlo Alone (2018).
Her first full-length movie, Black Conflux, was shown at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival. This is a very important film festival. The movie was later chosen for Canada's Top Ten list for 2019. It also received a nomination for the John Dunning Best First Feature Award in 2020. This award is for the best first movie by a director.
Nicole also directed a six-episode TV series. It was called Something Undone and was shown on CBC Gem.
What She's Working On Now
Nicole is currently working on her second movie, Balestra. This film is a thriller about fencing, which is a sport with swords. Balestra is being made as both a full-length movie and a shorter TV series.
Where She Lives
Nicole Dorsey spends her time living in two different cities. She lives in both Los Angeles (LA) and Toronto.
