History of Nicut
The community of Nicut was not always known by its current name. It was first called Vrona. The name changed to Nicut on December 16, 1925, when its post office was renamed.
The name "Nicut" comes from "nigh cut," which means a shortcut. This shortcut was a road leading to the nearby town of Muldrow. The post office in Nicut eventually closed on November 30, 1954.
