The Name of Muldrow
Muldrow got its name in 1887. It was named after Henry L. Muldrow. He was an important government official. He served as the first assistant U.S. secretary of the interior.

Muldrow City Park
The Muldrow City Park is a great spot for families. It has a playground for kids. There's also a walking and jogging trail. You can play basketball on two courts. A volleyball court is also available. The park has a large covered pavilion. There's even a children's splash pad. A small creek runs through the park. Special events, like Old Settler's Day, are held here.
Muldrow Lake
Muldrow Lake is just northeast of the town. It's a good place for fishing. The Wildlife Department once did a survey here. They found that Muldrow City Lake had the most bass caught per hour.
Robert S. Kerr Reservoir
To the west-southwest of Muldrow is Robert S. Kerr Reservoir. This large lake is in the beautiful Cookson Hills. It has about 250 miles of shoreline. It's a popular spot for boating and other water sports.
Sequoyah's Cabin Museum
About 12 miles north-northwest of Muldrow is Sequoyah's Cabin Museum. This museum features the actual log cabin built in 1829. It was built by Sequoyah, who created the Cherokee written language. The cabin is surrounded by a 10-acre park. You can see old items and documents related to Sequoyah's life. This site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places listings in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma.
