Nieuport 11 facts for kids
The Nieuport 11 was a famous French fighter aircraft. It had one engine and two main wings, making it a biplane. This small but mighty plane was used during World War I. It helped France gain an advantage over German planes like the Fokker Eindeckers.
People sometimes called it "Bébé," which is the French word for baby. This nickname came from its small size. A stronger version, the Nieuport 16, was also made. These planes led to a whole series of fighters that were used even into the 1920s.
