Nika Zorjan (born 3 December 1992) is a popular Slovenian singer and songwriter. She started her music journey in 2010 on a TV show called Slovenija ima talent. Later, she signed with Raay Music, a record label owned by the famous Slovenian music duo Maraaya.

Nika released her first song, "Čas za nas," in 2012. It was written by Maraaya. Her song "Nasmeh življenja," released in 2013, became one of the most played songs on Slovenian radio in 2013 and 2014! Nika has also tried to represent Slovenia in the Eurovision Song Contest several times. She even sang as a backing vocalist for Slovenia in 2014 and 2015.

Nika's Early Life and Family

Nika Zorjan was born on December 3, 1992, in a small village called Petanjci, close to the city of Murska Sobota. Music was always a big part of her family life. Her grandfather, Leopold, played the accordion, and her father, Janez, played guitar in a Slovenian band named Nova Legija. It seems music runs in the family!

Nika's Exciting Music Career

Nika's career kicked off in 2010 when she joined the first season of Slovenija ima talent, which is like the Slovenian version of Got Talent. Even though she didn't make it to the semifinals, it was a great start!

In 2012, she took part in Misija Evrovizija. This show was all about finding the next singer to represent Slovenia at Eurovision. Nika came in third place. After the show, she signed with Raay's record label, Raay Music.

That same year, she released her first song, "Čas za nas." It became very popular in Slovenia. Later, she released another song called "Problemom sredinc."

Eurovision Dreams and Performances

Nika has a strong connection to the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2014, she was a backing singer for Tinkara Kovač, who represented Slovenia at Eurovision that year.

She also tried to represent Slovenia herself!

• In 2017, she competed in EMA 2017 with her song "Fse." She finished in fifth place.
• In 2018, she competed again in EMA 2018 with her song "Uspavanka."

Nika often sings in Prekmurje Slovene, which is a special dialect spoken in her home region.
