Her Music Journey
Starting Her Career
Tinkara Kovač began her professional singing career in 1997. She won the "Most Promising Singer Award" at the Portorož festival. A famous local composer, Danilo Kocjančič, helped her a lot. He worked with lyric writer Drago Mislej – Mef and Marino Legovič. Together, they wrote her winning song. They also created all the songs for her first music album.
Playing with Famous Musicians
In 2004, Tinkara had her fourth concert in Ljubljana's Cankar Centre. She invited Ian Anderson, the singer from the band Jethro Tull. This meeting really encouraged her to start playing the flute. Ian Anderson then invited her to join his band as a guest. She performed with them during their tours in Croatia, Italy, Austria, and Germany.
Later, Tinkara also sang with other famous musicians. These included Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin. She also performed with Carlos Núñez Muñoz, Dan Lavery, Massimo Bubola, Bungaro, and Paul Millns. Tinkara's own music is inspired by bands like U2, Pink Floyd, and Coldplay. She also likes artists such as KT Tunstall, Imogen Heap, and Jethro Tull.
