Early Life and Dance
Nicole Ashley Hayes was born on September 27, 1995, in Chicago, Illinois. When she was six years old, she started learning dance. She studied at Studio One Dance Academy in Chicago. Later, she joined the choir and dance team at St. Sabina Academy.
Before she became a teenager, Nikki joined a group called Walt Whitman and The Soul Children of Chicago. She has learned many dance styles. These include Jazz, West African, Ballet, and Modern dance. After all this training, she decided to start her own singing career.
Nikki Hayes' Music Career
Early in her career, Nikki Hayes did very well in a talent search. She made it to the final five in "Who's Next? Worldwide Online Talent Search." This competition was created by Kuk Harrell, a Grammy Award-winning producer.
In 2018, Nikki Hayes released her first song, "Move." This song was a big success for her. It earned her a nomination for an Independent Music Award. The award was for Best Song in the R&B/Soul category. "Move" was also featured on the soundtrack for Tyler Perry's TV show Sistas. It also appeared on The CW's All American and ABC's For Life.
Her second song, "Stingray," came out in April 2019. Later that year, in September, she released "Together." This song was featured on the TNT show Claws. In 2020, Nikki released "Gotta Go To Sleep." Her most recent song is "Sweet."
