Early Life and Dance
Nicole Ashley Hayes was born in Chicago, Illinois, on September 27, 1995. When she was 6 years old, Nikki started learning dance at Studio One Dance Academy in Chicago. She also joined the choir and dance team at St. Sabina Academy.
Before she was a teenager, she sang with a group called Walt Whitman and The Soul Children of Chicago. Nikki learned many dance styles, including Jazz, West African, Ballet, and Modern dance. Later, she decided to focus on singing by herself.
Music Career
Early in her career, Nikki did very well in an online talent search. She made it to the top five! This contest was held by Kuk Harrell, a producer who has won Grammy Awards.
In 2018, Nikki released her first song, "Move". This song was nominated for an Independent Music Award for Best R&B/Soul Song. "Move" was also featured on the soundtrack for Tyler Perry's TV show Sistas. You could also hear her song on other TV shows like The CW's All American and ABC's For Life.
Her second song, "Stingray", came out in April 2019. In September of that same year, she released "Together". This song was featured on the TNT show Claws. In 2020, Nikki released two more songs: "Gotta Go To Sleep" and "Sweet".
