Nikki Williams' Early Life

Nikki Williams grew up in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. She has two older sisters who still live there. When Nikki was 16, she moved to the United States with her younger sister, Jade, and her mother, Mandy. They first lived in Los Angeles for about seven months. After that, they moved to Nashville, Tennessee, a city famous for music. Later, Nikki moved back to Los Angeles. There, she met Breyon Prescott and signed a music deal with his company, Chameleon Entertainment/Island Def Jam.

Nikki Williams' Music Career

Nikki Williams is a very successful songwriter. She has written songs for many popular artists. For example, she co-wrote "Like My Mother Does" for Lauren Alaina. She also helped write "Heart Attack" for Demi Lovato, which sold millions of copies! Nikki also wrote "Le Due Finestre" for Laura Pausini. This song was on Laura's album that was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award.

Nikki also co-wrote "Fly Again" for the Country Strong movie soundtrack. She wrote songs like "You Don't Get 2 Do That," "Brand New Man," and "Magnetic" for Nash Overstreet. She also wrote "Girlz" for L2M and "Make Up" for Ronnie Milsap.

Nikki's First Songs

Nikki released her first song, "...," on November 19, 2012. It was produced by Stargate and co-written by Sia. Her second song, "Glowing," came out on December 4, 2012. Nikki helped write "Glowing" with several other talented writers. The song became very popular. It reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart. It also hit number 21 on the Billboard Pop Songs chart.

TV Appearances and New Music

In May 2013, Nikki was chosen as Elvis Duran's "Artist of the Month." She appeared on the American TV show Today on NBC. On the show, she performed her song "Glowing" live. Her third song, "Thank God It's Friday," was released on November 15, 2013. A lyric video for the song was also posted online that same day.

Nikki Williams is currently working with Big Yellow Dog Publishing and Atlantic Records. On November 16, 2018, she released a new song called "Trouble." She worked on this song with DJ and producer Parov Stelar. In 2021, she released another song titled "You Don’t Own Me."
