Nikos Anastopoulos (born 22 January 1958) is a famous Greek former football player and manager. He was one of the best strikers in the Greek league during the 1980s. Many people think he is one of the greatest Greek footballers ever.
Anastopoulos started his career at Panionios in 1976. He quickly became a top player and helped them win the cup in 1979. After playing very well in a European competition, many clubs wanted him. He then joined Olympiacos.
At Olympiacos, he became a fan favorite and scored many goals. He even won the Bronze Boot in 1982–83 as the third-highest scorer in Europe! He helped Olympiacos win four league championships in the 1980s. In 1987, he moved to Serie A team Avellino in Italy, but it wasn't very successful. He returned to Panionios in 1988.
After a year, he went back to Olympiacos in 1989. Even though the club had money problems, he was a key player. He helped them win two more Greek Football Cups before leaving for Ionikos in 1992. After one good season there, Anastopoulos returned to Olympiacos. He stopped playing professionally in 1993 to become an assistant manager.
Nikos Anastopoulos played for the Greek national team from 1977 to 1988. He played 74 games, which was a record at the time. With 29 goals, he is still the all-time top scorer for Greece! He also scored Greece's first goal in a major international tournament at the 1980 European Championship.

Winning the Greek Cup with Panionios
Thanks to Anastopoulos, Panionios won the Greek Cup in 1979. They beat a strong team, AEK Athens, with a score of 3–1. He almost signed with AEK Athens but decided to go back to Panionios instead. Later, he played for Olympiacos again, then Ionikos, and finally ended his playing career with Olympiacos for a third time after the 1993–94 season.

Nikos Anastopoulos played his first game for the Greek national team on September 21, 1977. During his career, he played 75 times for Greece and scored 29 goals. This was more goals than any other Greek international player at the time!
