Nina Nikolayevna Arkhipova (born May 1, 1921 – died April 24, 2016) was a famous Soviet and Russian actress. She performed in many films and plays. She was recognized as a People's Artist of the RSFSR, which is a very high honor for an artist in Russia.

About Nina Arkhipova
Early Life and Training
Nina Arkhipova was born in the city of Omsk. Later, her family moved to Moscow. Her father, Nikolai Matveyevich Arkhipov, was from Irkutsk. Her mother, Maria Nikolayevna, was from St. Petersburg.
As a child, Nina loved to sing, dance, and play the piano. She lived in the Zamoskvorechye District of Moscow. She often went to the theater and started thinking about becoming an actress.
After high school, she applied to several theater schools. She also applied to the law department at Moscow State University. Nina was accepted everywhere! She chose to study at the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute, which was part of the Vakhtangov Theater. Her teacher was the well-known Cecilia Mansurova. Nina finished drama school in 1945.
A Star on Stage and Screen
From 1943 to 1951, Nina Arkhipova worked at the Vakhtangov Theatre. After that, from 1951 until she passed away in 2016, she was a main actress at the Moscow Satire Theatre. During her long career, she played more than 100 different roles on stage.
Nina Arkhipova started acting in films in 1946. Her first movie was a drama called Our Heart, directed by Aleksandr Stolper. Four years later, she played the character Vera in the movie Generous Summer, directed by Boris Barnet. This role is seen as one of the most important parts she played in her film career. She also became very well known after appearing in a TV play called Awake and Sing!.
In 2014, Nina Arkhipova wrote a book about her life. It was called Life in the Given Circumstances. She passed away in 2016.
Her Family
Nina Arkhipova was married three times.
- Her first husband was the composer Alexander Golubentsev.
- Their daughter, Natalia Golubentseva (born in 1942), is also a talented artist. She is an Honored Artist of Russia. For over 30 years, she worked in television. She famously voiced the character Stepashka (a little bunny) in the children's TV show Good Night, Little Ones!. She also temporarily voiced another character, Khyrusha.
- Her second husband was the writer Boris Gorbatov.
- They had a daughter, Elena Ermakova (born in 1953), who became an English teacher.
- They also had a son, Mikhail Gorbatov (1953-2017), who was a heart doctor.
- Her third husband was the actor Georgy Menglet.

Nina Arkhipova received many important awards for her acting:
- Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1967) – This is a special title given to artists who have done great work.
- People's Artist of the RSFSR (1988) – This is an even higher honor, showing she was one of the most respected artists.
- Order of Friendship (1996) – An award given for helping to build good relationships between people.
- Medal "In Commemoration of the 850th Anniversary of Moscow" – A medal given to celebrate a big anniversary of Moscow.
