Nina Sosanya, born on June 6, 1969, is a talented English actress. She has acted in plays, on TV, in movies, and on the radio. Many people know her from her roles in TV shows like Teachers, W1A, and Last Tango in Halifax. She is also a narrator, which means she tells stories for TV shows or audiobooks.

Nina Sosanya was born in 1969 in Islington, a part of London, England. Her father was from Nigeria, and her mother was English.
For a short time, Nina went to Vale of Catmose College in Oakham. Later, she trained to be a dancer at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. This training helped her with her acting career.
Acting Career
Nina Sosanya has had many different roles in theatre, on television, and in films. Her first big chance in theatre was in a play called Anthony and Cleopatra at the National Theatre. On television, she became well-known in 2001 for the series Teachers, where she played an English teacher named Jenny Paige.
Early TV and Film Roles
Nina appeared in many other TV shows and movies. Some of these include Sorted, People Like Us, and the popular movie Love Actually. She was also in the Jonathan Creek episode "The Three Gamblers" and the Doctor Who episode "Fear Her".
Notable TV Series
Nina played Colly Trent in the BBC drama Five Days. She also appeared in the comedy series Twenty Twelve, which was about the preparations for the London 2012 Olympic Games. Other BBC dramas she was in include Silk and Hustle. She even made a brief appearance in the children's science fiction series Wizards vs Aliens, playing Benny Sherwood's mother, Trisha.
From 2012 to 2015, Nina played a main character, Kate McKenzie, in the BBC drama Last Tango in Halifax. In 2014, she was also a main character, Lucy Freeman, in the TV series W1A. In 2016, she played DCI Laura Porter in the ITV series Marcella.
Recent Work
In 2018, Nina appeared as Sister Mary Loquacious in the first series of Good Omens. She returned for the second series, which came out in 2023, playing a character named Nina. The writer of the show, Neil Gaiman, said he named the character Nina because he always wanted Nina Sosanya to play her.
In 2019, Nina narrated the CBeebies bedtime TV series Moon and Me. This show is set in a toy house and follows the adventures of toy-like characters. There are 50 episodes of this popular children's show.
In 2021, it was announced that Nina would star as the lead warden Leigh in the Channel 4 drama Screw. This show started broadcasting in January 2022.
Theatre Performances
Nina has a strong background in theatre. In 2003, she played Rosalind in As You Like It with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC). She returned to the RSC in 2008 for Love's Labour's Lost. In 2010, Nina appeared in the play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in London. She also performed in new plays like Privacy (2014) and Elegy (2016) at the Donmar Warehouse in London.
Audiobooks and Voice Work
Nina Sosanya is also known for her voice work. She reads the part of Sephy in the audiobooks for Malorie Blackman's Noughts and Crosses series. She also plays the main character in the audio version of the sci-fi comic series Brink.
