The year 2012 was super successful for Nino. He won 11 out of 15 races! He won his first World Cup race of the season in South Africa. He used a bike with 27.5-inch wheels, which was quite new then.
On his 26th birthday, May 13, he won another World Cup race. By July, he had won four individual races. This helped him win the overall World Cup series title.
