Noble Okello Ayo, born on July 20, 2000, is a Canadian professional soccer player. He plays as a midfielder for Phoenix Rising FC in the USL Championship.

Early Life and Youth Soccer

Noble Okello started playing soccer when he was six years old. He first joined the North York Hearts SC. Later, he played for Mooredale SC. In 2013, he moved to the Toronto FC Academy, which is a special training program for young soccer players.

In 2017, Okello was part of the Toronto FC U17 team. This team won the first-ever International Youth Soccer Cup. They beat the Juventus U17 team, which was a big achievement.

Club Career Highlights

Noble Okello has played for several soccer clubs throughout his career. He started in the Toronto FC system and has since played for other teams in different leagues.

Starting with Toronto FC Teams

In 2016, Okello played one match for Toronto FC III in League1 Ontario. The next year, in 2017, he scored one goal in 13 games for them. He also played two more games in 2018.

In September 2017, Okello signed his first professional contract. This was with Toronto FC II, which is the reserve team for Toronto FC. He made his professional debut on October 6, 2017, playing against Bethlehem Steel FC. After the season, he even trained with the U19 team of a German club, VfL Wolfsburg. He played a full game for them and scored a goal.

Joining Toronto FC's Main Team

In January 2019, Noble Okello signed a contract to play for the main Toronto FC team in Major League Soccer (MLS). He played his first game for the main team on August 14, 2019. This was in a Canadian Championship semi-final match.

His MLS debut happened on July 21, 2020, against the New England Revolution. In 2021, he was loaned back to Toronto FC II for some games. He scored his first goal for Toronto FC II from a penalty kick on June 30, 2021. Toronto FC kept him for the 2022 season. However, he got an injury early in 2022 that kept him from playing for five months. He left the club after his contract ended at the end of the 2022 season.

Loan to HB Køge

On September 25, 2020, Okello went on loan to HB Køge, a club in the Danish 1st Division in Denmark. He made his debut for Køge just five days later. He came on as a substitute and scored a goal from far away.

Playing for New England Revolution II

In February 2023, Okello tried out for the LA Galaxy and then the New England Revolution. In March 2023, he signed a contract with New England Revolution II. This team plays in MLS Next Pro.

Moving to Atlanta United 2

In December 2023, Noble Okello signed with Atlanta United 2 for the 2024 season. He scored his first goal for the team on May 8, 2024, against Carolina Core FC.

Joining Phoenix Rising FC

Okello signed with Phoenix Rising FC in the USL Championship on December 27, 2024. He scored his first goal for his new club on March 15, 2025. This goal came in an exciting 4-4 draw against El Paso Locomotive FC.

International Career

Noble Okello has represented Canada at different levels of youth soccer.

He first joined the Canadian youth system in September 2016 with the Canada U17 team. He played his first international game on April 22, 2017, against Costa Rica U17 in a championship tournament.

In May 2018, Okello was called up to the Canadian U21 team for a tournament. In October 2018, he joined the Canadian U20 squad. He scored two goals in their first game against Dominica, helping them win 4-0. He was also on the provisional roster for the Canadian U-23 team in February 2020.

Okello was named to the Canadian senior team for the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup. He made his debut for the senior team on January 7, 2020. He came on as a substitute in a 4-1 win against Barbados.
