The Cranberries: A Rock Journey
Noel Hogan helped start The Cranberries in 1989. He formed the band with his brother Mike and drummer Fergal Lawler. Soon after, Dolores O'Riordan joined as the lead singer. The band became very successful, selling over 40 million records around the world. Noel released eight albums with The Cranberries.
The Cranberries took a break from 2003 to 2009. After Dolores O'Riordan passed away on January 15, 2018, Noel confirmed the band would stop. Their last album, In the End, came out in 2019. Noel said that The Cranberries without Dolores just wouldn't be the same. He added that they would not replace their friend and lead singer.
Noel's Solo Music Projects
While The Cranberries were on break from 2003 to 2009, Noel focused on his own music. He started working with Matt Vaughan, who had helped with some Cranberries songs before. This led to the creation of Mono Band. Noel was the only official member of Mono Band.
Mono Band and Arkitekt
Different singers, like Richard Walters, Alexandra Hamnede, and Kate Havnevik, provided vocals for Mono Band. Noel worked with Stephen Street, a producer who had worked with The Cranberries. They put together 12 songs for the debut album, Mono Band, which was released on May 20, 2005. Later, Noel and Mono Band singer Richard Walters formed a new group called Arkitekt. Arkitekt released two EPs in 2009 and continued to create new music.
Gohan Records and The Puro
Noel Hogan releases his music outside of The Cranberries on his own record label, Gohan Records. His music is published globally through Fairwood Music (UK) Ltd. Noel also helps local bands in Limerick by producing their music. Gohan Records worked with Limerick Live 95FM to release "Tonelist." This collection features many talented musicians from the Limerick music scene. In 2022, Noel started a new duo called The Puro with Brazilian singer Mell Peck.
