Exploring the Story of Nonni and Manni
This section tells you about the main characters and what happens in the series.
Meet Nonni and Manni
The story is set in Iceland in 1869. Twelve-year-old Nonni (Garðar Thór Cortes) and his eight-year-old brother Manni (Einar Örn Einarsson) live on a small farm. They live with their mother, Sigrid (Lisa Harrow), and their grandmother (Concha Hidalgo). Their father left for South America to find work before Manni was born. The family is still waiting for him to come home.
A New Friend Arrives
One day, a stranger named Harald Helgasson (Luc Merenda) comes to town. He says he was the boys' father's best friend. Harald tells them that their father sadly passed away from a fever. Before he died, their father made Harald promise to go back to Iceland. He wanted Harald to look after his family.
Harald starts helping the family on their farm. He becomes a very close friend to Nonni and Manni. The boys quickly like Harald a lot. They begin to see him as a father figure in their lives.
A Big Challenge for Harald
Magnus Hansson (Stuart Wilson) is a local businessman. He is interested in Sigrid and wants her to marry him. Magnus does not like Harald. He is upset about how close Harald is becoming with the family.
Later, a wealthy local businessman is seriously harmed. Magnus then accuses Harald of being responsible. Harald's family advises him to hide in the mountains from the authorities. Nonni and Manni strongly believe Harald is innocent. They bravely face danger and adventure to keep Harald safe. They also try their best to prove that he did nothing wrong.
