The Norfolk Country Club is a special place in Norfolk, Connecticut. It's a private club where people can play golf and tennis. The club also hosts fun social events.

Discover the Norfolk Country Club's Location
The Norfolk Country Club is in a pretty area of Connecticut. It sits southwest of the main part of Norfolk village. Norfolk is known as a lovely summer spot in the state's northwestern hills.
The club covers about 36 acres of land. That's like 27 football fields! The clubhouse and tennis courts are close to Golf Drive. The large golf course takes up most of the club's property. The golf course was ready for play in 1928.

The clubhouse is a unique building shaped like the letter "U." It's made of wood and has a style called Georgian Revival. This style was popular for grand homes and buildings.
The open part of the "U" faces south, towards the main parking area. The side of the building facing west has many windows. These windows offer great views of the golf course. Two brick chimneys stand tall near the bends of the "U" shape.
Special Features of the Clubhouse
Small, pointy windows called gabled dormers stick out from the roof on the inside of the "U." The main entrance is in the middle of the "U." It has a covered porch, called a portico, with round columns. This porch has a rounded arch in the center.
The ends of the "U" shape also have pointy gabled roofs. These ends feature special windows called Palladian windows. These windows have a large arched window in the middle with two smaller rectangular windows on each side.
Who Designed the Clubhouse?
The clubhouse was built between 1915 and 1917. It was designed by Alfredo S.G. Taylor. He was an architect from New York City who spent his summers in Norfolk. He designed more than thirty buildings in the Norfolk community.
