Norman Jacky Cyril Thavaud, born on April 14, 1987, is a French comedian and blogger. He is famous for his YouTube channel called "Norman fait des vidéos," which means "Norman makes videos." He creates short, funny videos that many people watch. Some of his videos have been seen millions of times!

Norman's Journey

Early Life

Norman was born in Arras, France, on April 14, 1987. His mom was a teacher, and his dad worked with movies. When he was young, Norman played the saxophone for seven years. He also loved making videos with his dad's camera! After finishing high school in 2005, Norman moved to Paris. He wanted to study cinema there. Before becoming a video editor, he worked different jobs.

Starting with Le Velcrou

Norman met Hugo Dessioux in college. In March 2008, they started a comedy group called "Le Velcrou." This group posted funny videos regularly on the Dailymotion website. A few months later, Marc Jarousseau, a friend from university, joined their team.

Through Le Velcrou, Norman also met Cyprien Iov, another video blogger. Cyprien appeared in some of Le Velcrou's videos. In December 2008, Cyprien made a short, funny Christmas film called "Super Mega Noël." He invited other bloggers, including Hugo and Norman, to be in it.

In July 2009, Norman earned a degree in filmmaking. The Le Velcrou group stopped making videos together in October 2010. After that, each member started making their own videos.

Becoming a YouTube Star

At the end of 2010, Norman started a new video style. He made short videos, about four minutes long. In these videos, he played an "average person" and talked about everyday life. His first solo video was called "Table tennis club." He created his YouTube account on January 3, 2011.

Two months later, he posted "The bilinguals." This video became very popular and helped him become well-known. Later, his video "Now, I have Google" became even more popular. Today, his most watched video is "Luigi Clash Mario," with over 86 million views! Norman records his videos in his apartment in Paris. He lives there with his roommate and his two cats, Sergi and Becassine. Sergi often appears in his videos.

Norman's videos have been watched billions of times. This success allows him to earn money from YouTube. He has also gained attention from national media. Many news outlets have called him a "web phenomenon." They see him and his friends, like Cyprien and Hugo Dessioux, as smart young artists. These artists are good at business and communication.

As a big internet star, Norman is one of the most popular French YouTubers. Many other video creators and friends have invited him to be in their videos. He often appears on the YouTube channels of his former group members, Hugo Dessioux and Marc Jarousseau. Even though they worked together in Le Velcrou, Cyprien, who is the most subscribed French YouTuber, has only invited Norman to be in one of his videos.

Norman has also appeared on TV. He was in several episodes of "Very Bad Plagues" by the Palmashow. The Palmashow is a comedy duo who also started on the internet. They now show their sketches on the D8 TV channel. In December 2011, Norman was invited to a film festival with other YouTube stars.

On January 12, 2012, Norman organized a show called "Zapping Amazing." It took place at the Grand Rex, a big venue in Paris. He brought together many web-comedy friends he had performed with. These friends included Palmashow, Kemar, Cyprien, and others. The comedians showed some of their most famous sketches to the audience. The show was a huge success, with almost 3000 people attending! Because it was so popular, a tour was planned across France in February 2013.

Norman often works with Yvick Letexier, Cyprien Iov, and Hugo Dessioux.
