Normand Brathwaite's Journey
Normand Brathwaite studied Theatre at Collège Lionel-Groulx in Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec. He started acting in plays in 1977. In 1981, he performed in a musical comedy show called La Cage aux folles.
From 1979 to 1991, he acted in several TV shows. These included Chez Denise, L'Ingenieux Don Quichotte, and Peau de banane. He also had small parts in movies like The Moderns and If Only in the late 1980s.
Becoming a TV Host
Normand became a TV host in 1988. He hosted a show called Beau et Chaud for six years. In 1993, he started hosting Piment Fort, a funny and satirical show on TVA. This show was very popular in Quebec until 2001.
After Piment Fort, he hosted another show called Fun Noir on TQS. Today, he hosts Belle et Bum on Télé-Quebec. He has also hosted many awards shows, like the Gemini Awards for over 10 years. He also hosted the Jutra Awards several times.
Radio Career
From 1990 to 2006, Normand hosted the morning radio show Yé trop de bonne heure on CKOI-FM. He left the station after some disagreements with his co-host, Jean-René Dufort.

Normand Brathwaite was married to Quebec singer Johanne Blouin. They have a daughter, Élizabeth Blouin-Brathwaite, who is also a singer. Normand also has a son named Edouard Brathwaite.
He has also supported important causes. He was a spokesperson for the Muscular Dystrophy Canada Foundation. He also appears in advertisements for Réno-Dépôt and Kaizen Sushi Bar & Restaurant.

Normand Brathwaite has won many awards for his work. He received four Metro Star awards in a row for being the best host in a game show. He also won Gemini Awards for best host in a variety show in 1988, 1989, and 1992.
