Even though it's in Harford County, Norrisville shares its postal code (21161) with White Hall, a town just across the county line in Baltimore County.

The Story of Norrisville: A Look Back

Norrisville got its name from the Norris family, who were among the first settlers in this area. The community was founded by the father of a man named Edward Norris.

Edward Norris was a very important landowner in the early days of the community. He owned a huge amount of property, about 3,000 acres (1,200 ha) of land in the Norrisville area. This large land ownership played a big role in shaping the community as it grew.
