North British Locomotive Company facts for kids
Imagine a huge factory that built amazing trains! That was the North British Locomotive Company (NBL). It was a very important company that made locomotives, which are the engines that pull trains.
NBL started in 1903. It was formed when three big train-making companies from Scotland decided to join together. These companies were Sharp, Stewart and Company, Neilson, Reid and Company, and Dübs and Company. When they combined, NBL became the largest company making locomotives in all of Europe at that time!
The company built many different kinds of trains for countries all over the world. Sadly, NBL stopped making trains and closed down in 1962.
