Chester is a small community in Windsor County, Vermont, USA. In 2010, about 1,000 people lived there. Chester is actually made up of three parts: the main town of Chester, a place called Chester Depot, and the village of North Chester. Chester Depot is separated from the main town by old train tracks.
For many years, a famous train collection called Steamtown offered fun train rides on these tracks. They traveled between Chester Depot and Bellows Falls. Later, this collection moved to Pennsylvania. Today, Vermont Rail System still uses these tracks for freight trains. You can also take a passenger train called the Green Mountain Flyer from the depot.
Chester Depot is famous for its unique area called the Stone Village. This street has several houses built from stone, which was unusual for buildings in rural Vermont.
