North Columbus, sometimes called "Northside," is a part of Columbus, Georgia. It's located just north of another area called Bibb City. You can find its borders roughly by these roads: Moore Road to the north, Manchester Expressway to the south, Moon Road to the east, and J. R. Allen Parkway to the west.

What You Can Find in North Columbus
North Columbus has many places to stay, like hotels. Many of these hotels are part of the Marriott family. Some examples include Courtyard, Fairfield Inn, SpringHill Suites, and Residence Inn. You can also find Homewood Suites by Hilton and Candlewood Suites here.
This area is also home to Columbus Park Crossing. This is a large outdoor shopping center where you can find many stores. North Columbus also has Piedmont Columbus Regional Northside Hospital. This hospital is part of Piedmont Healthcare and helps people who need medical care.

Local Communities
One community in North Columbus is called Nankipooh. It got its name in the late 1890s because it was a stop for trains. Inside the Nankipooh Community, you can find the Highland Pines, Old Town Columbus, and Victory Heights neighborhoods.
Tornado Events
North Columbus has experienced powerful storms called tornadoes. A tornado is a spinning column of air that touches the ground. They can cause a lot of damage.
On March 1, 2007, a strong tornado hit North Columbus. It was an EF2 tornado, which means it was quite powerful. This storm caused many homes and buildings to be damaged. It also knocked out power for many people. While many people were hurt, thankfully, no one died.
Another tornado affected the far northwestern parts of North Columbus on March 3, 2019. This storm damaged some homes and caused trees to fall. It also brought down a cell phone tower near U.S. Route 27 (Veterans Pkwy) and Almond Road. Just like the earlier tornado, no one was seriously injured or died during this event.
